About
I am Maximilian Vogt (Maxi), a dual-study B.Sc. student in Data Science & AI at DHBW Ravensburg, with practical phases at Mercedes-Benz Tech Innovation. I work where learning systems meet the physical world: brains, cars, and the sensors in between.
What I work on
Machine learning for neuroscience. In Flybrain I type the neurons of unlabeled fly connectomes from wiring alone, with a transferred graph neural network and graph matching. Every test on a new dataset was fixed in a protocol before it was run.
Autonomous racing. I am part of the Autonomous Driving team at Global Formula Racing, where we build the driverless stack for Formula Student in ROS, C++ and Python.
Neurotech hardware. I am building an EEG sleep band, starting with the software and an offline evaluation before the first board.
Research interests
- Learning on graphs, and transfer between datasets without target labels
- Closed-loop systems that measure the brain and act on it in real time
- Perception and control for machines that act in the real world
- Pre-registration and reproducibility in applied ML
TODO: adjust this list to the Master's programs you apply to.
How I work
I fix the evaluation before the method, report the tests that failed next to the ones that passed, and publish the code with every number. TODO: one or two sentences in your own words.
What I'm building toward
Long term, I want to found a deep-tech company. TODO: what kind of problem, and why you are the person to work on it.
